  • Born on November 16, 1941, in Ravenna, Ohio. Moved to South Florida after graduating high school in 1966. Married Susan Mazziotti in 1971. In 1981 he joined the Seminole Indian Department of Law Enforcement. A year later he joined the Golden Beach Police Department and served until 1984. In April of 1984 he joined the Metro-Dade Police Department. He and Officer David Strzalkowski were shot and murdered by ex-convict Charlie Street on November 28, 1988. The name of Richard Boles is inscribed (West Wall, Panel 16, Line 7) on the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C.
