Beth Jacob synagogue has been restored and reopened as the Jewish Museum of Florida. Built in 1936 as the second synagogue for the earliest Miami Beach congregation (chartered in 1927), the building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Designed by Henry Hohauser and opened in the heyday of the Art Deco period, Beth Jacob is 4500 square feet plus a balcony (sat 850 people), has a Moorish copper dome with six stained glass windows, seventy original stained glass windows along both sides of the nave and the apse (front), and Art Deco interior lighting fixtures.
