The Western Union was launched in Key West in 1939. It is the last sailing cable ship on earth and the last example of a traditional American coasting schooner made in the U.S.
Biographical Note
In 1984 the Western Union was renamed the New Way until 1997 when the Western Union was designated the flagship of Key West.
