John M. W. Davidson was born in 1801 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. He came to Quincy, Florida shortly after his marriage to practice medicine. He was a pioneer physician, scholar, and planter, who was a distinguished citizen of Florida until his death in 1879. |
