Southeastern Regional Black Archives Research Center and Museum
The Southeastern Regional Black Archives Research Center and Museum
is housed in the Carnegie
Library on the Campus of Florida A&M University. Its mission
is to collect, preserve, dispense and display materials relevant
to the history and culture
of African Americans and black people worldwide. Among the half
million documents and thousands of artifacts housed at the repository
are letters, photographs,
slave papers, military records, manuscripts, and an oral history collection.
Riley House Museum Center for African American History and Culture
The mission of the Riley House Museum Center for African American History
and Culture is to preserve the John G. Riley House and the cultural and educational
history of African Americans in Tallahassee and the State of Florida from
the Reconstruction Era through Civil Rights.
Black Archives, History and Research Foundation of South Florida
The mission of the Black Archives, History and Research Foundation of South
Florida is to collect, preserve, and encourage research into source materials
documenting the black experience in South Florida. The collection includes
manuscripts, photographs, documents, souvenir programs and research materials
and is used by scholars, students, and the public. The organization also maintains
a speaker's bureau and sponsors community events and educational programs
in support of its mission.
