The images on this Web site represent a selection from the Foley Collection. The entire collection can be viewed onsite at the State Archives of Florida in Tallahassee.

Description: This collection consists of color and black-and-white photographs and negatives of Florida politicians, celebrities, and sporting and other events taken during Mark Foley's years as Associated Press photographer and later as Senior Photographer for the Florida House of Representatives.

Historical Note: A professional photographer and Christian minister, Mark T. Foley was born in West Point, New York on February 26, 1943. His interest in photography developed in 1960 and strengthened through his higher education years at Wyoming Seminary, Villanova University, Palm Beach Community College, and Florida Atlantic University. Foley began his professional photography career as a photojournalist at the Palm Beach Post in 1965. He joined the staff of the Tampa Tribune in 1967 and then the Associated Press in Detroit, Michigan in 1969, later transferring to Miami and finally Tallahassee, Florida. An award-winning photographer, Foley retired from the Associated Press in 2002 and became Senior Photographer for the Florida House of Representatives, a post he continues to hold.
