BIOGRAPHICAL/ HISTORICAL NOTE: This series contains the typed transcripts to taped interviews recorded in 1979 and 1980. The people interviewed are Mary Billy, Claudia C. John, Billy Burbank III, Lucreaty Clark, David Cook, Melvin Dougherty, Antonios Lerios, Manning "Skipper" Lockett, Raphael Martinez, Aleida Marinez-Garrido, and Cruz Rosary Hernandez. There is also an interview with an unidentified person discussing the Santeria religion in the Cuban community in Miami.

The interviews concern such subjects as Seminole Indians and doll making, shrimping, superstition, Cuban culture and customs, Santeria religion, oral histories, basket weaving, crop preservation and storage, a number of folk traditions and crafts, deep sea diving helmets, and cigar making.
