Lesson Plan Activities: FILM CLIP MOBILES
Objective:
Student created mobiles will assist students in the understanding of information obtained in Florida Archives film clips.
Grade Levels/Sunshine State Standards:
4-6 (SS.A.1.3.1-3, SS.A.6.3.2-4, SS.B.1.3.1-5, SS.A.6.2-7, LA.A.1.1.1, LA.A.1.2.3-4, LA.A.2.2.5,6,8, LA.B.1.2.1,3, LA.B.2.2.1,3,4,5, LA.C.2.2.2, LA.D. 2.2.5)
Description:
Students will view film clips and choose one. Create five to seven pieces of artwork relating to events in their chosen film clip. Draw and color both sides of each piece of the artwork. Cut out each piece of artwork and string on coat hangers. Include pictures of: who, what, where, when and why relating to the film clip. Place a date on the mobile based on the film clip. Display mobiles from the ceiling of the classroom. Students can view each of the mobiles to get an idea of what is the subject matter of each film clip represented. Once students become familiar with the film clips, see if they can guess which film clip does the mobile represent.
