For Grades 7-9. Meets Sunshine State Standards for Social Studies (SS.C.2.3.6) Standard 6: the student understands the importance of participation in community service, civic improvement and political activities.

For three decades, Roxcy Bolton was Florida's leading women's rights activist. In 1969, Roxcy Bolton successfully challenged the practice that many restaurants had of keeping a separate "men only" section.

These documents include:

  • Letters from businesses with "men only" lunch sections, and letters supporting and opposing the practice.
  • Letter from a high school student regarding discriminations.
