Teacher Resources

The Teacher Resources include lesson plans and project ideas correlated to the Sunshine State Standards, additional resources, and an overview of the site as a whole.

Lesson Plans- Correlated with the Sunshine State Standards
1.)  Introduction to Primary and Secondary Sources
What if you had the SCRAP OF PAPER on which J.K. Rowling wrote the beginnings of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone?  In this lesson, students will examine examples of sources of information and decide which are primary and which are secondary sources.  This will give students an introduction to primary and secondary sources in a familiar context, and prepare them for further study.
2.) Looking At Primary and Secondary Sources using "The Records on Mary  McLeod Bethune."
In this lesson, students will compare the raw material of an interview with Mary McLeod Bethune to an author's first draft of a biography.
