Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q. When I click on the page number to open the pension file, I get an error message which says "Error reading linearized data". I am using Acrobat 5.0.

A. Open Adobe Acrobat Reader and then go to Edit > Preferences > General >. In that box under Options, uncheck "Allow Fast Web View" and click OK at the bottom. Then go back to your browser. The pdf file should load.

If you have Acrobat 4.0: select File> Preferences>General and uncheck "Allow Background Downloading."

Q. When I click on the page number to open the pension file, I get an error message which says "Plugin Error: The plugin did not initialize properly". When I click "OK" it says "The plugin was found but an error in the plugin has occurred."

A. While we are not sure what causes this problem, there is a way to work around it. One solution is to download the pdf file and save it locally.

To save the pdf locally, press the shift key and while still pressed, click on the pdf file. Instead of Acrobat Reader starting, you'll see the "save" dialog box appear. You can now save the pdf file and then open it in Acrobat Reader.

Q. Have all the pensions been scanned?

A. Yes. Approximately 14,000 pensions (over 200,000 color images) have been scanned.

Q. Can I only view/print one page at a time?

A. Yes. The files are too large for most computers to handle multiple pages at once.

Q. What should I do if I have a problem that is not listed here?

A. Contact us through this website or by phone (850) 245-6700. It is extremely helpful if you can provide the EXACT error message you are getting and specify EXACTLY what you were doing (which page, what link clicked) when the error occurred.
